Santiago High School's Disaster Services is made up of three teams, Security, Search and Rescue. Together with the schools' faculty they make sure that after a Disaster everyone is safe and taken care of.
It is headed by C/MAJ Gallegos, Martin and headquarters. The Disaster Team is made up in order to assist in the case of an earthquake, weather it is a real one or a drill. There are approximately forty cadets in the teams. They practice after school and prepare in case of a real emergency.
The Security Team is in charge of guarding all the exits and entrances of the school. They do this in order to avoid anyone from leaving or entering the campus. This is done so that the people can be kept track of.
The Search Team is in charge of searching the classrooms and making sure everyone is out of them. If they find someone they then call the Rescue Team.
The Rescue Team is made up of the people who go in after a classroom is searched. If someone is injured they preform First Aid and get a qualified person to assist.
When in the case of an emergency or a drill the Disaster Team members meet in the quad, where they receive further instructions. They then are briefed on the details of the emergency and are ready to go.
